Dance at our Festival is more than ecstatic movement - it also embraces and supports the quiet, slow journey within which is as integral as dynamic, energetic dancing. With workshops that invite you to explore the transformative power of meditative conscious movement, balancing your nervous system, gently tuning into your inner rhythm, and discovering your authentic dance. And, these sessions also provide a well-held container to create connection and explore dancing together.
Ecstatic Dance is not only about movement but also embraces the deep journey into stillness and the healing potential of sound. Transitioning from the dance into silence offers a precious space for grounding and reflection, while gently reintroducing healing soundscapes enhances the emotional and spiritual integration of the experience.

We are truly happy to also present a Live Music Ecstatic Dance at the Festival, as this addition brings a wonderful new dimension to the experience where live performances of multiple musicians merge together the multifaceted energies and feelings of the moment, creating a potent synergy that amplifies the emotional impact of the dance.
This festival is brought to life by the dedicated team of Soundgarden and many volunteers from the vibrant community of resident dancers who regularly participate in the weekly Ecstatic Dances throughout the year.
Together, they pour their hearts and passion into creating an unforgettable experience. At the centre of this inspiring endeavour are Alexander, the creator and owner of Soundgarden (aka DJ SpaceDeer), and Christina Valeska, the general manager. With their diverse skills and soulful connection, they serve at the heart of this festival, blending their unique visions to curate an event honouring their love of Music and Dance.

The Arillas-Soundgarden is a space unlike any other, designed to elevate the Ecstatic Dance experience through a perfect harmony of sound, nature, and comfort. At its core lies a state-of-the-art all over the place distributed sound system, ensuring crystal-clear, high-quality audio throughout the entire dance area. This immersive soundscape supports deep Ecstatic Dance journeys, allowing participants to connect fully to the music and movement.
Dance through the whole garden and choose your perfect spot: under the shade of ancient olive trees, on a spacious dance floor made of soft, yoga-mat-like materials, on beautiful crafted organic wooden platforms, or even directly on the earth itself. To ensure comfort during the hot summer days, the main dance floors are equipped with an eco-friendly outdoor cooling system that is using high-pressure fine mist, it provides refreshing coolness by evaporating pure water. And as the sun sets behind the DJ stage, another layer of magic unfolds, when the fine mist creates rainbows across the dance floor, allowing dancers to move each evening within a shimmering rainbow, adding an ethereal quality to the experience.

Festival Ground
Our festival venue, the Arillas-Soundgarden, is situated on a small hill in the village of Arillas. It is approximately a 30-minute walk away from the beach, restaurants, and most apartments of Arillas. Everything at the Arillas-Soundgarden is harmoniously arranged within and around a 3,300 sqm garden. The impressive old olive trees provide shade during the day and create a magical atmosphere when lit up at night.The venue is divided into two areas:

The village of Arillas is a vibrant coastal community located in the northwest of Corfu, Greece’s lush, green island. Arillas has become a hotspot for alternative tourism, attracting visitors worldwide with its unique combination of stunning beaches, traditional Greek charm, international festivals, retreats, holistic healing options, and spiritual offerings.
Program Structure of the Festival
Our festival program emphasizes dance and movement activities, organized into a 5.5-hour morning session and a 3-hour evening session. This schedule allows attendees to enjoy the beaches, explore the surroundings, experience local restaurants, or book private sessions with our selected facilitators and teachers.

Catering is not included in the ticket price and must be pre-booked at least two weeks before the festival. During beach breaks, attendees can explore Arillas’ diverse range of traditional Greek tavernas, fusion cuisines, and vegetarian/vegan-friendly options.
Drinking Water
We provide free drinking water at the venue. Please bring your own refillable bottle and avoid using plastic bottles. Reusable bottles are available for purchase at the check-in counter.
Bus Shuttle & Parking
A parking area is available near the festival grounds. If driving, please carpool with others and drive slowly along the narrow road leading to the venue to respect local residents. We also offer shuttle buses from Arillas to the festival during the two daily time slots. A shuttle schedule will be announced shortly before the event.
Sober Environment
Please note that we maintain a substance-free environment year-round. Smoking, alcohol, and drugs are strictly prohibited on the festival grounds. A small designated smoking area is available.
Preserving Nature
Please dispose your waste in designated bins and do your best to protect the natural beauty of the area. Avoid using plastic bottles, bags, or disposable coffee cups.
Using Water Mindfully
Water is a limited resource in this region. Please be mindful of your water usage.
Dogs and Pets at the Venue & Beach
Do not bring any pets with you to Soundgarden. We have a little pack of cats and a team-dog. On the beach, dogs must be kept on a leash, and owners must clean up after them.
Nudism
While nudism is officially prohibited in Greece, it is tolerated at the far ends of Arillas Beach. Please respect the signs on the beach indicating beginning of those areas.
